The hydraulic driven pipe cutting and beveling machine is designed for cutting heavy wall, high alloy pipes or particularly tough steel applications. The closed loop hydraulic system ensures proper lubrication is applied to the drive motors, which extends the life of the machine. The dual hydraulic motors are infinitelyadjustable and deliver consistent horsepower to the cutting blades and drive motors.
Two hydraulic motors drive the machine. The 4 KW hydraulic motor coupled to the heavy duty transmission rotates the cutting blades up to 76 RPM. The 1 KW motor connected to the two speed transmission moves the machine around the pipe. Due to the extreme performance of the machine, the hydraulic version must be used with a Power Pack capable of delivering 50 ltr/min at 100 bar pressure in order to achie-ve maximum results.
To cut very thick walled pipes multiple passes may be required. In order to maintain the same degree of accuracy a guide chain must be used in these situations. For pipe OD > 36“ (914 mm) it is also recommended for high return accuracy and for OD > 48“ (1219 mm) it is generally recommended. These can be supplied as stan-dard up to 63″ (1600 mm). For larger pipes sui-table chain kits can be purchased.
Pneumatic Type
The pneumatic driven pipe cutting and beveling machine is an excellent tool for both field and shop work. It is best usedfor cutting pipes in explosive environments such as refineries or on pipelines conveying naturalgas, crude oil or crude oil by-products.
Machine speed and blade RPM are controlled by means of two metering valves located on the control block. Airflow to the main drive motor andthe blade motor can be shut off simultaneously with the start/stop control valve, located on the control block.
Two highly reliable, heavy duty pneumatic air motors drive the machine. The 2,75 KW motor coupled to the heavy duty transmission rotates the cutting blades up to 71 RPM. The 0,56 KW motor connected to the two speed transmission moves the machine around the pipe.
Beveling blades are available in various conf-gurations such as 30°, 37.5° and 45° beveling angle, as well as “U” joint and “J” prep. Due to the extreme performance of the Machine, the pneumatic driven version requires a compressor capable of delivering a minimum of 8 bar (g) at 4000 ltr/min in order to achieve maximum results.
